Ritu kumar an Indian Fashion designer & native of Amritsar graduated & attended lady Irwin collage in new Delhi 1964, and Briarcliff college in new York USA in 1966, the first women who first introduced the ‘Boutique’ culture in India with a brand name ‘RituKumars’Ritu Kumar Creations
Indian designer Ritu has received numerous industry awards considering
the Indira Gandhi ‘priyadarshini Awards’ for her contribution in the fashion
filed & Indian textile crafts.
Traditional Indian wear , wardrobes comprising swimwear,
eveningwear, casual wear, & party & evening gowns, of three winning
miss India for their participation in international beauty pageants miss world,
miss universe and miss Asia pacific by her.
Kumar’s designing collection reflected by style icon
Princess Diana and Jemima Khan, she published co –author book “costumes and
textile of royal India” published in 1999, which shows history and art craft of
India. Her creations always involve traditional themes and concepts to bring a
revolution with the ancient styles and looks of embroidery and embellishments.

Ritu kumar designs for Bollywood movie for soha ali khan named “midnights children’s” and diya mirza for movie “love breakup’s Zindagi”.
Kumar worked on an antique pataudi ghagra and genelia d’souza carried the attire which is designed by Ritu at her wedding.
